Domestic Heating Oil is also known as Home Heating Oil or Kerosene and is usually delivered in quantities of 500 Litres up to 3000L into tanks which are usually sited in our customers gardens or out houses or sometimes underground.

Syndicate Buying is a popular buying method for domestic heating oil customers, a syndicate or buying group sometimes referred to as a co-operative, is simply a group of people who get together and buy as one in bulk to obtain a lower cost regardless of quantity ordered. By doing this the syndicate can drive the price of heating oil down, believe it or not we at Birmingham Fuel Oils do not mind this as it can also benefit us as a delivery company as the syndicate members are all in the same area or village, so both parties can win.

An example of how Syndicate Buying can work today as of November 2019:

• An individual buying 500 Litres of Kerosene/Heating Oil for themselves would expect to pay around .50ppl or £250.00 (excluding 5% Vat)

• If that same individual were to buy the same quantity via a Syndicate or buying group with an average of 20 people buying in bulk 10,000 Litres then the price would be approximately 45ppl or £225.00 for the same customer a saving of 10% or £25.00 based on the same 500 Litre purchase.

Setting Up Your Own Heating Oil Syndicate

Starting your own Heating Oil Syndicate or buying club isn’t to difficult, it will however someone to take charge and get people to participate and then get quotations to obtain the best price. Ideally to get the best deal for your Syndicate you will need at least a dozen people or more, the more you have and the more you can bulk buy the better your price and savings will be.

 Once you have your syndicate members simply ask them for the quantity they require and full delivery address and contact details for the supplier. Don’t be disheartened if you can only get a few members at first as even buying with your next door neighbour can in some cases save you money.

Our dedicated team of professional drivers will deliver anything from 6 to 16 heating oil deliveries daily on each vehicle depending on location and the quantities involved, we will endeavour to get the job done on time to keep your homes warm and welcoming. Our standard delivery times for Heating Oil deliveries are 1 to 2 days during summer months but can stretch out to 4 to 5 working days during the busiest & coldest winter months due to demand.

Emergency Heating Oil deliveries can be arranged should you forget to place your order in good time or run out, in these circumstances we will do our best to accommodate your request and get you up and running as soon as possible.

Generally, we would recommend ordering when your kerosene tank is no less than a third full in winter to avoid disappointment but during summer you can allow your tank to fall as low as a quarter or less before you order.

We also recommend using our heating oil additive on a regular basis which will enable your boiler to achieve a better and cleaner burn as well as increasing the efficiency of the heating oil by approximately 8%. We recommend this be added at least 2 -3 times a year dependant on usage
